Georgia gets snow!?

You heard me right, Macon Georgia got a whopping two inches of snow on Tuesday! 

Ben came home Monday night and told me that schools were being cancelled on Tuesday and Wednesday because there was going to be a snow on Tuesday night.

Tuesday came and all day long Reese kept asking me when it was going to start snowing.  Well, the snow didn't start falling until 6 p.m. that night.  When Ben came home from work he told us that his work was closing the office on Wednesday because of the storm!  I won't complain about Ben getting an extra day off but come on people, it's only 2 inches of snow.

Wednesday morning we woke up to fresh snow and two very eager children who wanted nothing more than to go and play in the snow.  Reese was so excited to go outside and build a snowman and name him Olaf.  I regretfully informed her that we didn't have any snow clothes, but she didn't care.  She wanted to go outside and build a snowman anyways.

They were so excited to be outside and they were really enjoying the snow.  They were all smiles and they didn't even want to look at me so I could document their first time playing in the snow.  I followed Benson around everywhere trying to get him to look at me and smile but he was much more excited about exploring the snow.

He was all smiles . . .

Until he fell down in the snow, got his hand wet, and realized that snow was . . . COLD!  What happened to warm hugs?

Reese and Ben made a snowman and Reese loved him so much and was so excited to have a pet snowman named Olaf!

We brought him inside and guess what?  He started melting and someone got quite emotional that her little snowman was melting!

Reese played out in the snow for a long time.  And when I say she played in the snow I mean she walked around in the snow, holding up her pants so they wouldn't get wet. 

If you're wondering what that red thing is creeping out of her hood it is her scarf that she made out of felt.  We could not forget her scarf!

By the time we brought Reese and Benson inside they were both crying because they were wet and cold.  Benson was upset about his shoes being wet and was inconsolable.  It was kind of funny!

Reese was crying because she sat down in the snow and her bum was all wet.  Yes, it was a great day playing out in the snow.  I think it is safe to say that my children have been scarred by the snow and are official snow haters!  So much for trying to have fun.  We just made them wet and miserable!
