UTAH!!! What a GREAT place to be!

When Ben started his program last May, he was informed that he would have to do a 6 week internship during the following summer.  We decided that if Ben could get an internship in Utah that would be ideal because then we could all go and enjoy time with our families while he did his internship.  It was decided we were going to try. 

At Christmas time Ben contacted a bunch of Prosthetic offices in the Provo/Ogden areas.  They all said that they were not looking for anyone to do an internship at their office.  We gave up on the idea of coming to Utah for the summer and decided to stay in Dallas so we could all stay together for the summer.

In February Ben went to Orlando, Florida for a Prosthetic convention.  While he was there he met a man who had a prosthetic office in Provo.  He and Ben sat and talked for two hours and when all was said and done, this guy said he would love to have Ben come and do an internship with him during the summer.  We were all so excited and we started making our plans.

In May we found out that this guy in Utah was being kind of wishy-washy about the internship.  I gave up all hope that we would be spending our summer in Utah because this guy was not responding about the internship at all.  Ben finally called this guy up and and confirmed that we would be going to Utah for his internship!  We couldn't be happier that everything worked out!

So Monday July 1st came and we set out on our three day journey.  We traveled 1,267 miles and were on the road for a total of 20 hours and 47 minutes.  It was quite the journey and we were all exhausted by the time we arrived in the promised land.  But we were all so excited to finally be here.  We had  been looking forward to this for the past 14 months and the time had finally come!

Ben was our fearless driver and drove the whole way, he is a real trooper!  Reese and Benson did great on our trek across the U.S.  They watched lots of movies, ate plenty of junk food, and slept about 3 hours the whole time they were in the car.  But they did great!

They would both get to the point where they wanted to get our of the car.  Benson would sit and cry and point to the red button on his harness and say "done".  It was sad but he made it!  Reese also had a breaking point at about 7 hours of confinement,  but thankfully we are all still sane and alive!

We are so excited to spend the rest of our summer in Utah and cannot wait for all the fun things we have planned!
