Before our Vacation

Unfortunately the day before we left for Utah it snowed in Texas!!!  I did not believe it when Ben came in and told me.  I thought he was joking with me.  But no.

Ben wrapped Benson up and went outside to see the snow.  I think Texas knew we were going to Utah and were going to freeze our behinds off and so it gave us some snow to prepare us for the freezing weather we were about the encounter.



We bought our airline tickets to Utah way back in September or October but we decided that we were not going to tell Reese that we were going to Utah until the day before we left.  Why?  Well when Reese gets really excited about things, she gets obsessed and can't think about anything else. And we hear about it over and over and over again.  We didn't want to be hearing about Utah for the next two months and so we kept our little secret to ourselves until Monday night.

We told Reese we had a super duper amazingly awesome surprise for her.  We told her to close her eyes and we would give her her amazingly awesome surprise.  We pulled out her very own Tinkerbell backpack filled with all kinds of goodies.

I think she was most excited that she finally had her very own backpack, but she loved everything inside of that bag.  She got lots of new coloring books, fruit snacks, markers, and some sticker books.

We then told her that the reason we were giving her this backpack was because we were going on an airplane the next day.  "We are?" she said.  Then we told her that the reason we were going on an airplane was because we were going to Utah to visit our family!  "We are!!!" and then the jumping up and down commenced.

It made us so excited to see her excitement!  For the rest of the day that is all she could talk about.  Thankfully we only had to listen to her go on and on about and our family and Utah for a few hours. 

She went to bed really easily that night because she wanted Tuesday to come so she could ride on an airplane and see all of our family.  I think it is safe to say she was excited!
