One year with Tanner

Dear Tanner,

A whole entire year has passed since they placed you in my arms.  You were as calm as could be and you have continued being that way ever since.  I will be forever grateful that you are my third child because you made being a mom of three kids much easier than I was expecting it to be.
Your first 6 weeks of life were some exciting ones.  We were living in Dallas Texas, they had a huge ice storm and our power was out for over 24 hours and dad was out of town.  It was quite exciting but you missed all of the excitement while you were sleeping.
Then we moved to Macon Georgia!  We packed up our apartment in Dallas and hit the road.  You were a gem through the whole move.  All you did was sleep and eat.  You were an answer to my prayers and made that very stressful time not quite so stressful because I didn't have to worry about you.  Thank you!
You spent the first 9 months of your life sleeping in the living room.  I am sorry about that!  Benson was still sleeping in the crib when you were born and was not ready to be moved to his big boy bed and so the corner in the living room was your room.  You didn't seem to mind though.
Thankfully you don't have to sleep in the living room anymore!  You now sleep in the same room with Reese and Benson and you don't have to sleep in the pack-n-play!  It only took us nine months to make this happen!  Sorry buddy!

You were born with some super awesome hair! We just put a little lotion in it and it was the perfect hair for a cute little mohawk.
But then at about 4 months that cute little mohawk started getting out of control and so we had to take the scissors to your cute little hair.
One of my favorite things about you Tanner is that you were always content to sit and watch everyone run around and be crazy.  A lot of time you were stuck in your car seat because I was running around trying to help your brother and sister but you didn't mind.  You were just as happy as can be!
Sometimes you were stuck in your swing but as long as someone took a second to look at you and talk to you you were still happy and content.
We nick-named you our lazy baby.  You have never been in a big hurry to roll, sit-up, crawl, or walk.  You were content to sit or lay still and watch the craziness happen around you.  I am hoping that one day you will start walking... You didn't start officially crawling until about a month ago and man you have gotten fast!
You went through a phase where your tongue was ALWAYS hanging out of your mouth.  You were eating, your tongue was hanging out.  You were crawling, your tongue was out of your mouth.  You were playing, your tongue was hanging out of your mouth.  I am kind of glad that phase is over with because all of that tongue hanging out made for some very wet shirts.
You are so silly and your enjoy making us laugh.  About two months ago you started pulling this silly face and because it made us all laugh you started pulling it ALL. OF. THE. TIME.
You have changed so much over this past year! When you were born I thought you were going to look just like Benson but as the months have gone by your little look has changed and you look nothing like the baby they placed in my arms a year ago.

One thing is for sure little man,  we all love you a ton!  You make us all so happy and we can't imagine our family without you.  Your siblings have been smitten with you since day one.
And you love them about as much as they love you!
Happy birthday little man!
We love you with all of our hearts!
