I'm pretty sure that our children are obsessed with their dad! We went through a phase when Reese and Benson had to go outside in the jammies every morning to say good-bye to Ben. The funny thing was, he gave them hugs and kisses before he left, but that was never enough for them. They needed to give him one more kiss or one more hug before he drove away in his car.
So we would race outside before he drove away and they gave him that extra hug or kiss. He would finally get in his car and I would try to get the kids to come inside the apartment but no, they had to wave to their dear dad who they wouldn't see for the rest of the day. And then as he drove away they would race down the sidewalk waving to him until they couldn't see his car anymore. It was quite the traumatic event! Thankfully there were no tears because then I would think that maybe it was torture to stay home with mom.
Whenever Ben comes home and the kids hear that key go in the front door and turn they always yell "DADDY!!!!" They get pretty excited that their dear old dad is finally home and they don't have to play with just mom! He is their hero! They do have a pretty awesome dad! He is so busy with work stuff and church stuff, but he always makes sure that he spends a little time with those hooligans before they go to bed.
Sundays are pretty busy for Ben. He has meetings before church and more meetings after church and then usually he goes and visits people in our ward. He is usually exhausted by the time Sunday is over. I LOVE this picture, because even though he looks exhausted from another long Sunday, he still has time to sit with the baby and play with the Reese and Benson.
I love that he always makes time for our children. He is so giving and so generous with his time. He is definitely my better half!
