This year Ben's mom wanted to do something different for Christmas. She told us in advance that we were going to do the 12 days of Christmas and that was all she told us. No one knew exactly what we were doing but we all knew that we had to be at the Call's on December 14th for the kick-off party.
Before going to the Call's we had a present to open. Inside we found some indian headdresses for each of us. We had to come up with indian names for ourselves and the theme of our party was family, God, and country.
When we got to the Call's house we discovered that we were going to be having a pow-wow, which included an indian dinner {Navajo tacos} on the floor, a devotional, a game, and a movie. The kids had a blast wearing their headdresses and running around but were definitely tired by the end of the pow-wow.
It was such a fun way to start off our 12 days of Christmas. We are excited about the 12 days of Christmas. It has been fun to focus on family this Christmas season and start some fun new traditions to help us remember what Christmas is all about.

So, what were your Indian names?
Okay Mal, I will tell you because they were AMAZING! :o) Ben was Passing Winds, Kristen was Milking Cow, Reese was Little Parrot, and Benson was Big eyes melt heart. Quite creative eh?
