Dausett Trails

Dausett Trails is a little zoo about 30 minutes from good old Macon.  And when I say little zoo, I mean REALLY little zoo.  Some people in our ward told us to go to it because it was free and we are all about free activities.

The zoo consists of a couple of baby alligators, some snakes, lots of birds, two otters, some beavers, racoons, a couple of turkeys, some farm animals, a cougar and a bear.  Not much to see, BUT it's free!

We told the kids that we were taking them to the zoo and of course they were excited to see the giraffe's and monkeys...  We had to break their little hearts and tell them that this zoo was fresh out of giraffe's and monkeys but there were ALLIGATORS!  Benson is obsessed with alligators and crocodiles right now, so he wasn't too heart broken that there weren't any giraffe's or monkeys.
We weren't sure what to expect when we set out for this zoo but you could visit the whole entire zoo in about 15 minutes if you didn't sit and stare at the animals too long.  But that's okay because well it was free.
We love our cheap entertainment because if you are disappointed about the experience, its okay because you didn't waste any money on it because it was free!
